Pair of American weighted sterling silver candlesticks by Theodore B. Starr, New York, NY, 20th Century, having a baluster column with urn form capital, and profusely decorated with tooled and applied swags, flowers, foliage and shields on an openwork base. Height 11", base diameter 5 3/4". Gross weight 39.7 troy ounces. Theodore B. Starr was a company of silversmiths founded in New York in 1862 by Theodore Starr. The company was incorporated in 1907 by Starr's son, before being bought in 1918 by Reed and Barton, and finally closing in 1923.
